Plywood Hardwood BB/CC customised boards online

Plywood Hardwood BB/CC is one of the most popular types of board material. It is very strong and moisture resistant, making it suitable for structural applications that need to withstand rough handling. Order your cut-to-size Plywood Hardwood BB/CC easily online. Plywood can be sawn or milled into various shapes. The most popular shape is a rectangle, but we also cut circles, ovals, hexagons or even parallelograms to size. Do you want your do-it-yourself project neatly finished? Then choose one of the available (edge) finishes.

Plywood Hardwood BB/CC: what is it?

Plywood Hardwood BB/CC is a popular variant of plywood board for interior use because it is the best quality choice. It is waterproof glued as standard and has a clearer wood grain compared to poplar plywood. This plywood panel is much harder than poplar, a soft wood species. It can therefore take a beating! This also makes the material more durable. Plywood Hardwood BB/CC has a natural, red and brown colour where the edges are a bit coarser than with for example birch plywood. With Plywood Hardwood BB/CC, the wood grain is clearly visible, which gives the wood its coarse flames. The drawing of the wood grain runs standard along the length of the plywood. Our plywood panels are suitable for horizontal applications such as ceiling and floor surfaces. For vertical applications, take into account the possibility of warping.

Plywood Hardwood BB/CC is made up of various hardwood veneers. Hardwood here is a collective term for different tropical wood species which together form a board. The type of wood used and its proportions can vary from board to board. As a result, a wide variety of colours and textures may be present on the face sides and in the core of the panel. The layers of plywood are glued together crosswise during production, which puts a lot of stress on the board. During sawing and processing Plywood Hardwood BB/CC tension may be released which may cause longer sheets to have a slight curvature.

View quality Plywood Hardwood BB/CC: BB/CC

The quality of the top layers of plywood is indicated by letter combinations. There is a letter indication for the visible side (top side) and one for the reverse side (bottom side). This refers to the quality of the cover veneer; the quality of the gluing, for example, is indicated differently. B/BB is an example of a common quality, which can be used for decorative applications. The first letter (in this case B) indicates the quality of the visible side and the second letter (in this case BB) indicates the quality of the reverse side. Read here more about all visible qualities.

Plywood Hardwood BB/CC has a visible side BB/CC. The top side has the visible quality BB. With BB-quality veneers, slices are allowed. These are small cuts of veneer that have been replaced by flawless pieces of veneer. Cracks are also allowed, particularly on the edges. Knots and sapwood may be present. The underside is coarser, i.e. CC-quality. In CC-quality, the panel is no longer suitable for decorative applications. This is because the defects and flaws are not repaired. CC boards are still structurally usable and are therefore often used as construction boards or packaging material.

Available thicknesses of Plywood Hardwood BB/CC

You can order plywood in different thicknesses. You can easily specify your desired thickness during the ordering process. In this way, you can be sure that the sheet material meets your requirements: both the format and the thickness of the material. The following thicknesses are available: 9 mm and 18 mm.

Processing of Plywood Hardwood BB/CC boards

Plywood is an easy panel material to work with, if you have sharp tools. For drilling holes, we recommend a wood drill with a centre point. Pre-drilling is also recommended for this panel material. This board material can discolour over time, so finish it with a (clear) varnish, stain or paint. Use an edge sealer to finish the edges of plywood, this prevents the varnish or stain from penetrating the board material, which may lead to the veneer layers coming loose.

Specific applications Plywood Hardwood BB/CC

Plywood Hardwood BB/CC is very suitable for projects such as casing, roofing, floors or as a substrate for tiles due to its sturdy, waterproof and durable properties. Plywood Hardwood BB/CC is also suitable for outdoor applications when treated with a primer and edge sealant. Due to the many different tropical wood species used in Plywood Hardwood BB/CC, it is not suitable for decorative applications. This is mainly due to the fact that the material can warp.
