Rick decided to close his open stairs with risers. In addition, TOSIZE.pt sawn to size sheet material allowed him to get started quickly. Now his stairs have not become open but closed stairs. Read here how he worked!
Description by Rick
I closed the existing open staircase with the ordered materials by installing risers. The screws are easily ordered.
How I made this project
- Step 1: Measuring the required planks. TOSIZE.pt has a handy Excel and/or order form online for this, where you can add the size per plank, but also a coding. E.g. stair step 1, 2 etc. I used a slightly longer length for the turns.
- Step 2: Ordering the planks and screws.
- Step 3: Additionally, I ordered the Wolfcraft Undercover Jig set TX4642100 to install the screws in an almost blind manner and attach the risers.
- Step 4: Check dimensions, apply blind connection with Wolfcraft and adjust end edges for nice connections.
- Step 5: Fastening the risers
- Step 6: Finishing
Dimensions of my DIY project
The height of the disruptive boards is approximately 20.0 cm high. The width varied due to the twist in the stairs.
